Welcome to the 3rd Looniest Mini Golf Open hosted by A Couple of Putts.
For the 3rd time in the history of the event, a non-Minnesotan has won the tournament and for the 2nd year in a row, 1st place was decided by a playoff.
Derek Hartmann and
Bryan Akers both shot 125 over 2 rounds and went to sudden death. Each chose a hole. Bryan chose #11 and Derek #15. Derek's tee putt got an unlucky bounce and he took a 4 and Bryan got a 2 to win his 2nd AMA tournament to date after finishing #1 for the 2024 AMA Season.
Todd Viau shot a final round of 40 to jump up to 3rd place and
Tom Loftus fell one shot behind with a 41 to finish the
tournament.
In the amateur division, the top 3 were separated by 2 strokes.
Owen Pendleton shot a two round 94 with a 47 each round. Owen also won the junior division.
Ryan Walsh took 2nd with a 95 and
Robin Schwartzman took 3rd with a 96. Robin took the top spot in the women's division.
Both division's played a single aces only round.
Jason Peterson won the amateur aces only round with 1 and
Kaiden High won the pro aces only round with 2 hole-in-ones including a wild ace on #4. For the aces only round, normal OB rules didn't count and chip shots were allowed.
